The Center for Regional 发展 partners with and convenes community stakeholders to enhance the economic well-being and quality of life in northwest Ohio by serving as a trusted and neutral capacity builder, data analytics provider, 计划主持人, 项目评估者, and a bridge to BGSU faculty, 学生, 和资源.

EDA 大学中心

美国.S. Department of Commerce 经济发展 Administration (EDA) first established the Center for Regional 发展 as an EDA 大学中心 in 1996. The CRD 大学中心 is a joint Center with Ohio University’s Voinovich School of 领导 and Public Affairs known as the 农村 Universities Consortium. The 农村 Universities Consortium covers 65 of the 88 counties in Ohio with CRD serving 31 counties in northwest Ohio and the Voinovich School serving 34 counties in southeast Ohio. 

The EDA 大学中心 经济发展 program is designed to make the extensive resources of universities available to the economic development community. Key to the program is supporting economic development strategies in regions of chronic and acute economic distress. 大学中心s represent long-term partnerships between the federal government and academia in economic development. CRD received another five years of funding from the EDA for the 大学中心 program in 2021. The funding allows the center to partner with economic developers and businesses on expansion and attraction projects, 应用博天堂官方网站, and economic engagement in underserved rural communities.

农村 大学计划

CRD is among a group of four universities that receives funding from the State of Ohio through the 农村 大学计划 (RUP) to share our vast university resources with underserved rural communities. The RUP enhances our ability to help rural communities achieve economic sustainability, 包容性, 和弹性. We provide technical assistance for economic and community development projects, including grant application development, and data and analytics to support community planning processes.
